Cherry Ginger Smoothie
A fun and exciting smoothie with an unexpected twist, this cherry ginger smoothie is a favourite in our household.
Cherries add a punch of antioxidants, which help defend against free radicals that can cause damage to the body. Most antioxidants are found in fruits and veggies and smoothies are a great way to ensure you’re getting enough. Antioxidants are known for their ability to fight or prevent conditions like cancer and arthritis. If you suffer from gout eating cherries daily can significantly reduce the frequency of flare-ups.
Ginger has long roots in history for treating nausea, vomiting, and settling the stomach.
The body digests hemp hearts slowly. This helps to balance out the body’s sugar levels and keeps you feeling fuller longer. This smoothie is not one that will leave you hungry in an hour. Hemp hearts offer a steady source of energy for the body. After consuming hemp hearts for just a week I found my energy levels were improving. If you are a new mom out there any bit of energy you can get from healthy sources is worth a try. Hemp hearts also provide omega 3s and is one of the few plants that do so.
Recipe for 1 serving
- 1 cup frozen cherries
- 1 tablespoon of hemp hearts
